Description

Beloved by many, The Snowy Day (originally published in 1962) broke the color barrier in popular children's books.

The Emergency School Aid Act of 1972 was a federal desegregation incentive program. This book was purchased with the Detroit Public Schools Emergency Aid Fund, possibly in response to an order by the United States District Court to improve educational services in order to eliminate vestiges of past discrimination.
